AT&T set out to to leverage their presenting sponsorship of the College Football Playoff by driving viewers to their on-demand platform. To meet the moment, I pitched and ultimately produced a 1-hour documentary on 4 legendary college players visiting their former teams, as they prepared for the CFP semi-finals. This production would be my greatest challenge and accomplishment in 19+ years at ESPN.
The "Bronx is Burning" was an 8-part series on ESPN that fictionalized the 1977 Yankees amidst the backdrop of a chaotic and dangerous New York City. John Turturro and Oliver Platt headlined an incredible cast. My "Behind the Scenes" production team focused on the verite elements of this well-known and thrilling story about baseball and NYC in the late 70s.
Marketing execs at major brands often talk of appealing to parents with emotive sports-themed content. In response, I created and launched an editorial series called "Just Dad" and "Just Mom" that focused on the perspective of a parent raising their young athlete. Steph Curry's dad, Dell, was a gracious and willing participant in this proactive feature. The concept was eventually sold to Nissan.
